Our music / singing group with little ones, their parents and older people takes place in a local care home every Monday morning. Encouraging multigenerational friendships, reducing social isolation, enhancing children’s language skills and reaching those who are diagnosed with Dementia through singing, play, coffee and chatting.
Mum4Mum group meets at The Teignmouth Inn in Dawlish every Thursday evening from 7.30pm. Mums are encouraged to share the highs and lows of parenting, support each other and relax for an evening of pampering, chat and giggles. Mums that are unable to get to the group may be offered home visits for a specified period of time, where appropriate.
Laughter Yoga is a great way to reduce stress, boost immunity and enhance general health and wellbeing. Playful exercises, relaxation and breathing exercises without the need to be fit or funny! The club runs every Sunday at The Manor House, Dawlish from 7.30pm-8.30pm.
The HOPE Programme
Alongside Torbay NHS, we facilitate the HOPE programme locally. This is a 6 week course for anyone with a long term health condition where we explore ways in which people can live with their condition without feeling weighed down by it.
A four week course teaching parents / carers how to massage their babies in order to aid development, enhance bond, improve mood and reduce the impact of common baby gripes such as colic, wind, constipation and sleep issues. Limited free places can be offered to those who cannot afford to pay.
Waves is a monthly group held in Dawlish (at The Studio/Space, Tunnicliffe Building). Meeting on the last Thursday of every month, from 10am-12pm, Waves gives people who have been bereaved the chance to meet others, express their feelings without judgement and engage in a relaxation exercise. The group is run by a mental health nurse and volunteers with bereavement counselling and funeral planning experience. Whether the loss was recent or historical, all are welcome to this safe, confidential and informal group.
A weekly group that meets in the Riverside Centre, Dawlish on Fridays from 10-11.30am. Parents and their babies/toddlers under the age of 18 months are invited to meet each other, sing songs and play. The aim of the group is to reduce social isolation for parents, strengthen support networks and to build a community based on acceptance, non-judgement and celebrating the little ones.
